What Happened to the Dinosaurs©
Discussion:
Talk with your child about being sick and how germs can make them sick. Reassure your child that germs will not kill them like it killed the dinosaurs but it is important to take steps to protect yourself from getting sick. Talk about the role of the doctor when someone does get sick. If you are comfortable, talk about a time when you have been sick.
Activities
Do some play acting where you and your child take turns being a patient and the doctor. The doctor helps the patient feel better but also helps teach the patient how to keep from getting sick.
Additional Activities
Get some books from the library about dinosaurs and read them together. Have
your child draw pictures of dinosaurs either copying from the books or creating their own imaginary dinosaurs.
